Workmanship on any system our own team installs

Labour to correct a fault caused by our installation, including re-commissioning and re-programming

What is covered

Included as standard.

  • Defects in materials, components or manufacture that show up in normal use.
  • Faults in the workmanship of an installation carried out by DIGIMAX or an installer we authorised.
  • Free remote diagnosis on the hotline or WhatsApp, whether or not the fault turns out to be covered.
  • Repair or, where repair is not practical, replacement of the faulty unit at our option.
  • Labour and, within Colombo and suburbs, the site visit needed to put a covered fault right.
  • Firmware and app-side configuration support for the life of the cover.
What is not covered

Exclusions.

  • Impact, crushing, dropping or other physical damage, and water ingress beyond the product's rated IP protection.
  • Damage from lightning, power surges, incorrect supply voltage, bad earthing or an unstable mains supply. We strongly recommend surge protection on any smart installation in Sri Lanka.
  • Installation, alteration, dismantling or repair by anyone other than DIGIMAX or an installer we authorised.
  • Opened casings, tampering, and any product whose serial number or item code has been removed or defaced.
  • Consumables and wear parts: batteries, remote cells, gaskets, filters and sealant.
  • Cosmetic wear that does not affect function: scratches, scuffs, marking, and normal fading of a finish exposed to direct sunlight.
  • For flooring and profiles: damage from subfloor moisture, building movement or settlement, pests and termites, unsuitable cleaning chemicals, castors or furniture without protection, and installation outside the published method.
  • Faults caused by your network or by a third party: internet outages, router or ISP problems, and changes a platform such as Alexa, Google Home or Matter makes to its own service.
  • Use outside the product's stated purpose or environmental rating, for example an indoor device fitted outdoors.
  • Goods not supplied by DIGIMAX or bought from an unauthorised reseller, including parallel and grey imports.
  • Flood, fire, storm, civil unrest and other events beyond reasonable control.
Making a claim

Four steps, one team.

There is no form to fill in and no ticket queue. Reach the same team that supplied and installed your system, on whichever channel suits you.

  1. 01

    Tell us what is wrong

Call the hotline, message us on WhatsApp or email us. Describe the fault, when it started and what you have already tried. A short photo or video of the problem speeds everything up.

  2. 02

    We diagnose remotely first

A good share of reported faults are pairing, network or firmware issues that we fix on the call in a few minutes, with no visit and no downtime. If it is hardware, we say so straight away.

  3. 03

    Repair, replace or return

For an installed system we book a site visit. For a portable device you can bring it to the service desk at our Kesbewa complex, or send it in. We repair or replace at our option, like for like, or with the nearest current equivalent if the model has been discontinued.

  4. 04

    Back in service

We re-commission and re-test what we touched, and confirm the outcome in writing so your record is complete. A replacement unit carries the remainder of the original cover, or 90 days, whichever is longer.

Before you call

What to have ready.

  • Your DIGIMAX invoice or receipt number, which is the proof of purchase and fixes the start date of the cover.
  • The product name and item code, or the serial number on the unit.
  • The installation address, and the date we installed it if we did.
  • A photo or short video of the fault, and of the item code label if you can reach it.

Lost the invoice? Give us the installation address and the approximate date and we will find the record on our side.

Warranty FAQ

The questions
we get asked.

When does the cover start?

On the invoice date. For a project we install in stages, cover on each item starts when that item is commissioned and handed over.

Do I need to register the product?

No. Your invoice is the proof of purchase and we hold the supply record on our side. Keep the invoice safe, or ask us for a copy if you have lost it.

Is the warranty transferable if I sell the property?

Yes for the fixed lines, Power Glass, SPC flooring and UPVC profiles, where the cover follows the installation for the rest of its term. Write to us with the invoice number and the new owner's details and we will note the transfer. Portable devices stay with the original buyer.

What if the fault is not covered?

We tell you before doing any work, and quote the repair. Remote diagnosis is free either way, so you are never charged just for finding out.

Will you service a system somebody else installed?

We will look at it and quote for the work, but faults arising from another party's installation are not covered by our workmanship warranty, and rewiring done incorrectly can void the manufacturer's cover on the device itself.

Do you carry spare parts locally?

We hold stock of the common devices and parts at Kesbewa. Where an item has to come in from the manufacturer we tell you the expected lead time when we approve the claim.

Does the warranty cover the electricity or data my system uses?

No. Cover applies to the hardware and our workmanship. Running costs, internet service and any third-party subscription are yours.

These terms are given in addition to, and do not take away from, the rights Sri Lankan consumer law gives you, including under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act, No. 9 of 2003. Where our stated cover is shorter than a right you have by law, the law prevails.

Still stuck?

Talk to the team that installed it.

Most faults are diagnosed on the first call, and remote diagnosis is free whether or not the fault turns out to be covered.
